Honey Laundering Empty Honey Laundering

Chemical adulteration, dilution, global intrigue, cover-ups, high profile takedowns, fraudulent labeling, millions of dollars in suspect trades - all this reads like a true crime novel, and if it weren’t true, we’d all be better off, but it is, sadly, the sordid story of U.S. honey imports.

What is the source of that cheap honey on the grocery story shelves? Is your honey “made in China” with illegal substances, additives, antibiotics, and who knows what else injected in in it? Even if you don’t buy honey for table use, if you buy breads, pastries, and other processed foods, it is likely there. If the price you pay for honey is your only concern, you should take a second look at what you may be ingesting. The label isn't telling you the whole truth in some cases. Buy local, from a local beekeeper: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/honey-laundering-the-sour-side-of-natures-golden-sweetener/article1859410/singlepage/#articlecontent
