Tomatoes In Containers Empty Tomatoes In Containers

From the upside down tomato growing fad to just plain patio tomatoes, containers of all kinds and sizes are good for growing tomatoes. 5 gallon buckets work well in the greenhouse or on the deck to grow great tomatoes. Drill a few 1/2 inch holes in the bottom for drainage and you're ready to go. Add some potting soil and/or compost and plant that tomato, then stand back! Keep it well watered and let it go!

While most varieties of tomatoes will grow in containers, determinate varieties often are best suited for this method.
