Spring Greens Empty Spring Greens

If you were able to get some early planting accomplished in the garden prior to all the recent wet weather, then spring greens are being harvested now. Leaf lettuce, scallions, broccoli, spinach, radishes, bok choy, and other succulent green goodies are finding their way onto salad plates and bowls in homes across the area. These are also showing up in local farmers markets as well, along with the aforementioned rhubarb and asparagus. And morel mushroom hunters are having a hay day with all the wet weather!

With all the wet weather, rice might have been a good experimental crop this season, since our gardens look like a rice paddy about once a week!
