storing surplus & unused seeds for next year Empty storing surplus & unused seeds for next year

Good morning, all...
I'm sorting thru my box of seeds this AM, making my selections for fall planting. Looking at all the half-used and unopened seed packets, I guess I acted like a little kid in a candy store and just couldn't stop myself when I was putting together my seed order from the FEDCO catalog last spring...now I have lots of unused, leftover seeds. What's the best way to store them so they can be used next spring? Putting them in a ziplock bag in the back if the fridge makes sense to me, but I'd appreciate a second (and third and fourth) opinion....
Thanks...peace,
Bill Ihling

You can put those seeds in a canning jar with lid and put in the fridge. Glass and witha screw on lid or ring seem to seal the freshness in longer and more securely than a ziploc bag - which can get perforated or the seal can come apart fairly easily. You'll get several years worth of viable seed storage with slowly dropping germination rates. My 2 cents.
